Idaho's largest non-daily newspa- per, the Idaho Mountain Express, has an opening for a general as- signment reporter who wants to specialize in arts and events report- ing. Must be a hard worker who can establish good relationships within small communities and an excellent writer who can hit the ground runn- ing. The Express, recognized re- peatedly by the National Newspa- per Association as one of the best non-dailies in the country, has a strong tradition of providing award-winning news and arts cover- age. The successful candidate must have a college degree in jour- nalism or related field, preferably with experience in arts and events newspaper writing. The position is a full-time role that demands a variety of skills, from re- porting on a vibrant arts scene to composing features and producing the newspaper's calendar of events. Candidates must have ex- cellent writing and editing skills, a deep interest in arts and community events, and a solid understanding of AP style. The position requires strong organizational skills, effi- ciency and a light touch with stakeholders while never failing to meet deadlines. This is a de- manding but rewarding position.
